The Gardens

The one and a half acre gardens are being tenderly restored using traditional cottage garden planting, encorporating beautiful old fashioned fragrant roses, honeysuckles, pinks and herbs such as lavender and rosemary as we are hoping to create a relaxing, nostalgic and fragrant environment.

There is also an enclosed/part walled garden which houses a summerhouse in which you can enjoy the views and fragrance of this sheltered garden within a garden whilst being sheltered from the breeze. The orchard is in the process of being restored and rescued from the rabbits.

There are several places to sit and take in the views over the derwent valley and beyond, or just to enjoy the peace and quiet.
